Contact Front

About Contact Front

A team strategy game on real maps, where everyone moves at once.

What Contact Front is#

Contact Front is a team strategy game played on real maps. It plays like a board game of fronts and armies, with one big difference: everyone gives their orders at the same time. When the last player locks in, every move and every battle resolves at once, and you watch the turn play out.

Games are asynchronous. A turn can last a few minutes, when everyone is online together, or a day or more, so a game fits around work and sleep. A push notification tells you when it's your move.

How you can play#

  • With friends, online: one against one, in teams, or in a free-for-all. Teammates plan together in team chat.
  • Against bots, with no account: open the game and pick "Try a game vs bots". Nothing to install and nothing to sign up for.
  • On a phone or a computer: it runs in the browser, and on a phone you can add it to your Home Screen like an app.

The maps#

Every map is built from real borders, with real terrain: rivers to cross, forests and mountains that favour the defender, and cities that pay for new units.

  • Central Europe: France, the Low Countries, Germany, the Alps and Poland.
  • Taiwan: the island's townships, north against south.
  • United States: the lower 48, from one against one up to five-player free-for-all.
  • Honshu: Japan's main island.

Learning the game#

The Quick Start gets you through your first game in five minutes. The Academy explains how the game really works: the odds of a battle, terrain, artillery and air, supply lines, and the edge cases that surprise people.

Who makes it#

Contact Front is an independent game, built and run by a small team in the United States. It's free to play. To support it we may show ads on some pages, never in the middle of a game.
