Map pages: every map now has its own page showing where the sides start, the neutral cities between them, the rivers and mountains, and tips for playing it.
A new icon: the three-chevron mark is now the browser tab icon and the Home Screen icon. On iPhone, remove the app from your Home Screen and add it again to see it.
Better link previews: a link to the game shows a picture of the board in messages and chats.
Smaller fixes: order arrows stop at the edge of their target instead of covering it. The replay bar fits narrow phones. City names with no room in their province now show anyway, and a landscape phone opens on your own provinces. Teams in the lobby always list in the same order.
31 October 2026: profiles, Honshu and more ways to play the US#
Profiles and achievements: a Profile sheet with your score over time, your record, a table by map and 27 achievements to earn. Tap a name on the leaderboard or in a game to see that player's profile. You can make yours private.
Honshu: Japan's main island, three against three, with the Japanese Alps and Nagoya between the two teams.
United States: now in 1v1, 2v2 and 3v3 (West against East) and free-for-all for three and four players, as well as five.
Random starting spots: online players are dealt their starting spots when a game starts, with teammates kept together. The host can turn it off in the lobby. Your colour shows on the edge of your orders panel, and on turn one your provinces pulse.
A new home: the game moved to playcontactfront.com.
Accounts: online play now uses a Google or Apple account. Anyone can still play bots with no account at all.
28 October 2026: free-for-all and the United States#
Free-for-all: five players, every one for themselves. Battles can have three or more sides, and a knocked-out player's land turns neutral. The Free-for-all page explains it.
United States: the lower 48, with the Mississippi down the middle.
Player ranking: a score for every player, sixteen ranks with an insignia beside your name, a leaderboard, and your service record. See Rank & points.
Odds breakdown: the attack preview now shows what changed your odds. The plain odds are crossed out, followed by a chip for each cause: terrain, a river, a dug-in defender, supply, artillery, air. The Move box marks units the target's terrain weakens.
City shields: city markers are shields that fill from the bottom.
